Four held on outstanding warrants

Four peo­ple have been de­tained fol­low­ing po­lice ex­er­cis­es in Beetham and Sea Lots on Fri­day.

They in­clude three men from Beetham Gar­dens and a Grena­di­an na­tion­al.

Be­tween 3 pm and 8 pm, of­fi­cers led by Snr Sup Daniel un­der the su­per­vi­sion of In­spec­tors Pow­der and In­sp Brown car­ried out search­es at the Beetham Land­fill and a junk­yard in Sea Lots.

The four were ar­rest­ed dur­ing stop and search ex­er­cis­es af­ter it was dis­cov­ered they had out­stand­ing war­rants. Of­fi­cers al­so seized 78 grams of mar­i­jua­na and eight grams of co­caine.

How­ev­er, no one was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the nar­cotics

Cpl Ger­ald James, 44, of George Clarke Cir­cu­lar, Cara­po, Ari­ma, was last seen around 5 am on Fri­day when he left on a fish­ing trip with Roger Per­reira and Joseph Wat­son, both of Si­mon Street, Cara­po. The trio left on a pirogue named Right­eous head­ed for the New Cot­tage Fish­ing Cen­tre, Care­nage, and were ex­pect­ed to re­turn around 6 pm on Fri­day. Po­lice said James’s wife re­port­ed them miss­ing af­ter they failed to re­turn home

James is dark brown and of African de­scent is six feet and one inch tall and weighs ap­prox­i­mate­ly 175 lbs. He has a grey­ing mil­i­tary hair-cut, mous­tache, brown eyes and a scar on his right shoul­der. He was last seen wear­ing a white jer­sey, red sneak­ers and long blue jeans

Per­reira, who is of mixed de­scent. is light brown in com­plex­ion, slim built, with a low-cut hair­style, a short black bread and bushy eye­brows.

Wat­son is of African de­scent, weighs ap­prox­i­mate­ly 275 lbs with black hair, close-cut beard and brown eyes. He was last seen wear­ing grey short pants with a blue stripe, black slip­pers and a mul­ti-coloured jer­sey

Any­one with in­for­ma­tion on the men’s’ where­abouts is asked to con­tact the near­est po­lice sta­tion

West­ern Di­vi­sion po­lice are search­ing for a man who beat and robbed a man in as he was drop­ping off a friend in Glen­coe around 12.55 am yes­ter­day

Mar­lon Duhaney, 38 of Spring Bank Av­enue, Cas­cade, had just dropped off his friend at Strath­more Av­enue, La Hor­quette Val­ley Road, Glen­coe, and was at­tempt­ing to turn his car around he was re­port­ed­ly blocked by an­oth­er ve­hi­cle

Two men came out, pulled Duhaney was pulled out of his ve­hi­cle and beat him. They then searched Duhaney’s ve­hi­cle and took $1,400 in cash be­fore dri­ving off

Duhaney re­port­ed the mat­ter to the po­lice and Cpl Mar­celle of the Four Roads Po­lice Sta­tion is con­tin­u­ing en­quiries

An Ari­ma man who sur­vived be­ing shot five times ear­ly yes­ter­day morn­ing is ward­ed in a sta­ble con­di­tion at hos­pi­tal

An­ton “Bu­ju” Joseph, 26, of Train­line Road, Pin­to, was stand­ing on a road close to his home at around 12 am yes­ter­day when he was ap­proached by a man who be­gan shoot­ing at him

As Joseph fell to the ground, the sus­pect fled on foot. As res­i­dents rushed to as­sist Joseph who was suf­fered mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds

He was tak­en to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal where he was treat­ed be­fore be­ing trans­ferred to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ence Com­plex, Mount Hope
