ADIDAS PODRIA PERDER HASTA 750 MILLONES POR EL FIN DEL ACUERDO CON KANYE WEST

La noticia llega menos de cuatro meses después de que Adidas rompiera su relación con Ye. Adidas había construido productos alrededor de Ye desde el primer lanzamiento de Yeezy en 2015, pero la relación se deshizo en el último año cuando Ye hizo varios comentarios públicos apoyando la retórica antisemita.

Las consecuencias de la decisión de Adidas (ADDYY) de poner fin a su acuerdo con Ye, el rapero anteriormente conocido como Kanye West, podrían hacer que la empresa registrara unas pérdidas de casi 750 millones de dólares este año.

La empresa anunció el jueves que si opta por no reutilizar ninguna de las existencias de la línea de productos "Yeezy" de Ye, podría perder hasta 1.200 millones de euros (o 1.290 millones de dólares) en ingresos a lo largo de 2023.

Si la empresa se decanta por esta opción, Adidas también se vería afectada por un beneficio de 500 millones de euros este año y un coste extraordinario adicional de 200 millones de euros, con lo que las pérdidas operativas previstas para 2023 ascenderían a 700 millones de euros, unos 750 millones de dólares al tipo de cambio actual.

La pérdida anual de beneficios sería la primera de Adidas en 31 años, según el Financial Times.

"Las cifras hablan por sí solas. En la actualidad no estamos rindiendo como deberíamos", afirmó en un comunicado el consejero delegado de Adidas, Bjørn Gulden. "2023 será un año de transición para sentar las bases para volver a ser una empresa creciente y rentable. Pondremos todo el foco en el consumidor, nuestros atletas, nuestros socios minoristas y nuestros empleados de Adidas."

La empresa sigue estudiando "opciones de futuro", pero espera que las ventas neutrales respecto a la divisa disminuyan a un ritmo de un solo dígito.

"Estos costes forman parte de una revisión estratégica que la empresa está llevando a cabo actualmente con el objetivo de reactivar un crecimiento rentable a partir de 2024", dijo la empresa en un comunicado.

La marca de ropa deportiva no solo tiene problemas con Ye.

La colaboración de Beyonce con Adidas en IVY PARK se quedó a 200 millones de dólares de las previsiones de ingresos de la empresa para 2022, según el Wall Street Journal. Adidas anunció el jueves un beneficio operativo preliminar de 718,6 millones de dólares para 2022. Esto refleja una caída de aproximadamente dos tercios en los beneficios con respecto a 2021.

Las acciones de Adidas cayeron casi un 9% el jueves.
